Local church recognized for design

A branch of the American Institute of Architects has noted the Embassy Center Apostolic Church’s renovation of its 1920s building for its design.

The church and architect, Regan McClellan of McClellan Architects in Seattle, received a 2002 Design Award at the conference of Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture held October 25 in Washington, D.C.

The renovation, completed in February 2000, enlarged the sanctuary of the Bremerton church and added a library, a front entry, and a sculptural tower above the entrance.
