Seattle architect moves to Poulsbo
After over 30 years of successfully practicing in Seattle, Lawrence Craig Architects has moved its practice to Poulsbo.

The firm’s principal Larry Craig, graduated from the University of Washington School of Architecture in 1968 after receiving an AIA “Award of Merit” for his senior class project which was the first time a UW School of Architecture student had accomplished such a feat.

Craig has spent three decades designing and restoring downtown office buildings, industrial facilities and high-end homes across the West, Although still designing an executive jet terminal at the Oakland International Airport in California from its Poulsbo office, the firm has also landed a few local projects as well as donated services to the design and construction of Oyster Park in downtown Poulsbo.

Craig has designed a new public dock for the park and is assisting with agency approval for its construction. The new design will incorporate the use of existing pilings to minimize environmental disturbance at the site and provide a beach launch, small craft moorage, and greater public access.

The firm is also designing a public access trail which will reconnect Port Hadlock with its historic waterfront, including an interpretive trail from Kivley Center in Upper Hadlock through the Wooden BoatBuilding School campus to the boat school’s dock facilities so the public can enjoy the waterfront.
