Poulsbos Central Market has been selected by the Seattle Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment for exhibition in the Environdesign 6 program. The exhibition features projects that have demonstrated a clear commitment to environmental sustainability through the use of environmentally sensitive site and building design, energy conservation and use of recycled and recyclable building materials.
Designed by Miles Yanick & Co., the building was selected by the Kitsap County Solid Waste Division as a demonstration project featuring the use of recycled building materials and its construction waste recycling program. The building process was also showcased in a video production titled, The Central Market Story; Using Recycled-Content Building Materials in Commercial Construction. The Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development also featured the Market in its Clean Washington Center environmental design promotional material.
Now in its sixth year, Environdesign is the premiere national conference showcasing environmental stewardship in the commercial construction industry. |
