| Longtime Kitsap real estate broker Doug Eide has been named to manage the Kingston office of John L. Scott Real Estate.
Eide has a long history in the local industry, starting out with Spot Realty in 1979. In 1983, when Spot owner Mike Dick broke up and sold off the 18-office company which spanned four counties, Eide, along with his wife Dee, bought the Port Orchard Spot office where the pair worked.
He was also instrumental in uniting all the Kitsap Spot Realty offices into signing on with Prudential and forming what is now Prudential Northwest Real Estate. After building a new facility for their company on Bethel Road in 1985, the Eides sold the Port Orchard office in 1995 to Dave and Debbie Walden who had been agents there. The Waldens have since purchased the Silverdale and Belfair Prudential offices that were also part of the original Spot group.
Eide has also taught continuing education classes and was involved in several online ventures related to the marketing of real estate and Internet-based support services for Realtors, including stints with Homeseekers, HomeStore and Realtor.com.
