| Windermere agents Mike and Joni Draper of the firm’s Port Orchard, office are pitching in to help aid victims and their families affected by the attack of Sept. 11.
Between Oct, 1 and February 1, 2002, the Drapers will donate 10 percent of their commissions on any home listed or sold to the September 11th Fund.
This Fund is specifically designed to help respond to the immediate and long-term needs of victims, their families and communities affected by the tragedy. Customers will have the option of directing donations to either The September 11th Fund or to the Realtors Housing Relief Fund.
The United Way and The New York Community Trust are underwriting all administrative costs so 100 percent of all contributions will be used to support these efforts.
The Realtors Housing Relief Fund was established by the National Association of Realtors to provide financial aid to thousands of families of the attack’s victims who own homes, may lack mortgage insurance and face the possibility of losing their homes without outside assistance. Financial aid will also be provided to victims’ families who rent and may not be able to meet future rental costs without help.
