Reid Real Estate demos fiber optics
As one of the first user’s of fiber optics in Mason County, the Belfair office of Reid Real Estate recently held an open house to demonstrate the technology.

“This is a quantum leap forward in internet access in our area,” said branch manager Don Cady. “For us in the real estate business and our clients, this means almost instantaneous access to all information in the Northwest Multiple Listing service.”

Fiber optics provides broadband access at a rate which is thousands of times faster than telephone dial-up access. The infrastructure for the fiber optic system is part of a larger project initiated by the Public Utility District in Mason County. The infrastructure has been extended into Kitsap County along Highway 3 and reaches to Olympic View Industrial Park and Bremerton National Airport.

Excess capacity currently exists allowing both residential and business users in North Mason to hook into the high speed system.

Hood Canal Telephone Communications is providing the retail services to support Reid Real Estate and can be contacted for further information.
