| The 2001 Parade of Homes, which was held June 2 and 3, saw Security Properties walk away with both awards in the categories homes in its Poulsbo Place development were entered in as well as the Best of Show award.
The annual event, which is sponsored by the Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County (HBA), showcases the best local builders have to offer, and featured 14 new homes and 4 remodeled homes located from Kingston to Port Orchard. According to HBA executive vice president Art Castle, traffic at all the parade homes was substantial this year.
A team of judges, which consisted of Bellevue architect Pat McBride, Mason County builder Gary Cronce, and Graham Young, a real estate broker from Bellevue, toured all the homes. Their choices in each of the five price categories, remodeled homes, special awards and best in show were presented at the annual Parade of Home Award Banquet, held at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club on June 15.
“This is an exciting event. It provides the opportunity for those looking to build, considering buying a new home, remodeling their home or just dream building to visit homes built or remodeled by our communities top builders and remodelers, commented Carolyn Frame, of CFA Northwest Mortgage Professionals, who was the 2001 Parade Committee Chair.

“Great exterior look and design,” and “Nice master,” were noted by the judges.

S.F. Kafer Construction
E. Hillcrest Drive, Port Orchard
The judges had several compliments including, “Good placement on lot to maximize view,” and “Good design”....”Very impressive.”

Hawkstone Avenue, SW, McCormick Woods, Port Orchard
“Very good quality,” “First class master,” “Great Family Room,” and “Very Nice,” all appeared on the judges score sheets.
