The designation, which is relatively new, is awarded by the National Association of Realtors Senior Advantage Real Estate Council. It signifies that the agent has undergone a course of specialized training to deal with issues of importance to seniors where housing questions such as selling the family home, buying rental property, dealing with capital gains and estate tax implications of owning real estate, obtaining a reverse mortgage, moving to a senior or assisted living community and other issues are concerned.
