| The Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County (HBA) recently announced its 2000 HBA Scholarship recipients. Annually, the association of 370 plus local builders and construction related firms awards scholarships to students planning on continuing their education in construction or related fields.
The recipients are Ben Orser of Port Orchard and Teresa Sjostrom of Bremerton. Orser is a senior at South Kitsap High School and Sjostrom currently attends Klahowya Secondary School. She is planning to attend Columbia University upon graduation.
Both will receive a $500 scholarship, and have been submitted to the Building Industry Association of Washington, to compete with the winners from other Washington local associations for two additional $2,000 scholarships.
HBA President Doug Woodside stated “With so many well-qualified candidates the decision was difficult, but we are excited about our choice of Ben and Teresa. We hope our scholarships help them complete their education.”
