Port of Bremerton gives thumbs up
on two projects
The Port of Bremerton commissioners have given a thumbs up to four projects designed to create new economic development opportunities at Bremerton National Airport and in and around Olympic View Industrial Park.

The Port recently completed grading and storm-water retention work at the former Norseland mobile home park site which is adjacent to the entrance to Olympic View Industrial Park.

The 30 acre site, known as Olympic View Business Park, has spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains, and since there are relatively few large, flat, graded pieces of commercially zoned land such as this left in the Puget Sound region, the project is being viewed by the Port as a potential corporate campus for a single large user.

The Port is also planning to spend about $155,000 to clear and grade a 12 acre site between Highway 3 and Imperial Way on properly adjacent to the Olympic View Industrial Park for a future light industrial manufacturing area.

It is also planning to build a 12,000 square foot spec building on a 1.4 acre site located inside the existing industrial park.

Hangers Unlimited, a private company, will construct 36 condominium airplane hangars adjacent to the existing airport terminal. The first phase of the project, three buildings and 17 hangars, should be completed next October. Depending on the demand for mixed hangers and larger executive aircraft hangers, it could take until 2004 for the project to be built out.
