| Seattle Design Center recently awarded its top honor for kitchen design to Darcy dEvers Fisher, interior designer and co-owner of Design Base, Inc. The award was presented at its annual design awards ceremony and was bestowed for Fishers work on a residential remodel project located in the Laurelhurst district of Seattle, and designed by architect Kathy Bergum of Miles Yanick & Company.
Seattle Design Center conducts annual competitions for interior design projects to promote designers whose work contributes significantly to the design industry. Awards are based on problem solving, creativity, quality of design and beauty of space.
Bergums kitchen plan features efficient use of space for the small 12 feet by 15 feet room with graceful arched doorways and paneled columns that lead into an adjacent room. The plan is an extension of the lavish, intricately detailed design that Bergum created for the entire house, which was inspired by the early American Federal-style architecture. |
