Kitsap real estate market busiest in the region
According to statistics complied by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service (MLS), Kitsap County reported the highest number of homes sold in the Puget Sound region during the month of September — the latest month for which numbers are available. Kitsap County also showed the sharpest increase in the number of September home sales for the region when compared to a year ago according to the MLS.

MLS figures show 336 closed sales in September, compared to 270 closings for the same month a year ago, with the average price of homes sold in Kitsap jumping more than 11 percent.

The average sale price was $182,008 in September, compared to $163,310 a year ago. Median price data showed King, Snohomish, Skagit, Pierce and Kitsap counties, respectively to be the more expensive locations to buy a home in the Puget Sound basin.

Year to date sales figures show Kitsap County’s real estate market looking much the same as it did in 1999, with 2,695 homes sold through the end of September compared with 2,767 homes during the same period last year.
