| The American Subcontractors Association (ASA), has entered into a strategic agreement with Bidcom, an engineering, building and realty e-business services provider, to provide ASAs 6,500 members with access to its services. The ASAs members will have access to Bidcoms basic collaboration, bidding and marketplace services through the ASA web site.
The majority of our members are not taking full advantage of the Internet, said E. Colette Nelson, executive vice president of ASA. By partnering with Bidcom, we can provide them all the services they have been asking for, including: bidding, procurement, project collaboration, access to new business leads and information about project costs and materials specifications.
As a result, she said, ASA members will be able to generate more work, lower costs on existing projects and become more efficient and more profitable according to Nelson.
Bidcom is headquartered in San Francisco. Its customers include: the San Francisco Department of Public Works, Federated Department Stores, BancBoston Brazil, Swinerton & Walberg Builders, Ford Motor Company, The University of Chicago, Stanford University, Visa, and Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Privately held Bidcom has received venture capital financing from GE Corp., Internet Capital Group, Oracle Corp. and Hines, Partech International. |
