| Fjord Vista II has received final approval by the Poulsbo City Council. The Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority, intends to build 16 multifamily units on the 1.129 acre site, just south of the Poulsbo Community Center between First and Front Streets.
With an eye on its budget, and providing affordable living space, the Housing Authority requested the use of a state statute which allows exceptions to certain City development standards. Four such exceptions affecting density, open space, on-site storage facilities, and landscaping, were granted by the Council.
The development will provide shelter for low to moderate income families in six separate buildings. Fourteen units are planned as townhomes and two as apartments. Since the site is adjacent to the redevelopment of Poulsbo Place, the Housing Authority plans to provide designs compatible with that project. |
