AGC names Tacoma man new top exec
The Associated General Contractors of Washington (AGC) recently named Roland Dewhurst, AGC Southern District manager based in Tacoma, as its new executive vice president. He succeeds Curt Smelser, who resigned and plans to resume practicing law in Seattle.

Dewhurst has been with AGC for 20 years and has been instrumental in building one of the strongest districts in the state and led preparation of AGC’s Strategic Plan, adopted in May 1999.

Smelser’s leadership during the period of strategic planning and new initiatives put the AGC of Washington in the forefront of trade associations in the Northwest.
