| Kingston Lumber Millwork and Supplys KATZ road show held on Nov. 2 was a great success. The morning began with a kitchen cabinet layout and installation demonstration. Following this was a replacement windows and architectural trim demonstration. The final demonstration was circular work on the jobsite. There were approximately 132 in attendance. | Parametrix has promoted Denise Ledingham to associate director of marketing and business development. Her new role will involve a greater emphasis on supporting business development activities and goals. She will work closely with local office marketing staff as they enhance their support of a more rigorous client steward program within their respective offices. This new role also provides Ledingham the opportunity to coach and mentor marketing coordinators to improve business development pursuits including pre-positioning, proposal, and interview strategies.
Ledingham joined Parametrix more than 7 years ago as the Bremerton office marketing coordinator and then served as the public relations specialist and, most recently, core services manager.

| Patti Lawson-Darling, assistant vice president and real estate loan center manager announced that the bank has hired Kim Landis as real estate loan representative at its real estate loan center located at 10516 Silverdale Way NW in Silverdale.
Landis has over 25 years of financial services experience, 15 of which have been in mortgage lending. WBMA names Jeff Swan Distinguished Dealer of the Year |
| Western Building Material Association (WBMA) recently honored Jeff Swan, owner of Evergreen Lumber, Inc. in Port Orchard, as its Distinguished Dealer of the Year. The award is for outstanding service to the building material industry.
Swan is involved the community in different ways, including service clubs such as Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as providing financial support to a variety of local charities, foundations and youth programs.

Non-residential construction
still boosting the economy |
| A recent payroll employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows nonresidential construction is still boosting the economy, despite the homebuilding meltdown, said Ken Simonson, chief economist for The Associated General Contractors of America.
Total construction employment nationwide fell 14,000 in September and was down 1.5 percent compared to September 2006, During the past year, employment in the three nonresidential categories nonresidential building, specialty trades, plus heavy and civil engineering climbed one percent. Meanwhile, residential building and specialty trades employment supposedly shed 154,000 jobs or 4.5 percent.
