Benitez and Padget join Hecker Architects
Hecker Architects, PS recently announced the addition to two new employees, Roper Benitez and Michael Padget.

Benitez graduated from Bremerton High, Olympic College, and most recently from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies.

Bremerton hires new community
development planning manager

BJC Group breaks ground on
new dental office building
Work is under way on the new dental office of Rory Jefferson. The BJC Group led the design/build project team of SJ Barrett & Co. (Interior Design), NL Olson & Associates (Site and Structural Design), and Dr. Jefferson to complete the design of the building and site.

The project is now into the construction phase, with the foundation work currently underway. Completionis slated for Feb. 2006. Two states choose InterLocking's
Permitting-in-a-Box software
Poulsbo-based InterLocking Software announced that the town of Florence, Ariz. and Riverton City, Utah, have selected the company's Permitting-in-a-Box all-in-one system to replace the current paper-based permit processing system.

Permitting-in-a-Box is a relatively new offering from InterLocking Software. It provides the same features and functionality as the company's enterprise-level Permitting system but is designed to meet the needs of smaller jurisdictions, such as Florence, which are experiencing a surge in growth and require an effective permit processing system to be put in place immediately and cost-effectively.

George's Corner in Kingston slated
to see new bank, Rite Aid pharmacy
Rite Aid could be the next business to join the burgeoning retail development at the corner of Bond and Miller Bay roads just outside of Kingston.

The intersection, known as George's Corner, is a Limited Area of More Intensive Rural Development (LAMRID), a zoning designation that allows pockets of commercial growth in an otherwise rural area.

Rite Aid has submitted a development application for the southeastern lot. Frontier Bank is also in line to locate there. Both will go through a public hearing process.

Two other corners of the crossroads are developed, with Albertsons anchoring one corner and Kountry Korner Grocery and Deli the other.

North Kitsap is primed for growth with the development of several large housing projects, including White Horse south of Kingston.

Construction begins on new Skate Board Park
Contracts have been signed for the new Skate Board Park located near the YMCA and Bremerton Ice Arena in East Bremerton. Funds for the project include a $140,000 Interagency Committee Outdoor Recreation grant approved by the State Legislature this year and $25,000 from the Bremerton Central Lions Club.

The 10,000 square foot facility was developed with input from dozens of skateboarders working with Ken Mickelsen, city parks director. The park was designed by Miles Yanick and Company of Bainbridge Island.

Bay Street Dental renovation underway
Dr. Chris Mueller has retained the services of The BJC Group, Inc. to perform the interior renovation to his clinic located at 1420 Bay Street in Port Orchard.
