Online safety courses offer
convenient training option |
The Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) offers online safety and health training courses that provide basic awareness for employees and employers on a variety of topics. It can be accessed anytime via the Internet. There are training for many industries and hazards, with topics such as confined space hazards, fall protection, noise exposure, lawn mower safety, ladder safety, personal protective equipment and teen worker safety.

Cronce named statewide Builder of Year |
The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) 2004 President Gary Cronce was awarded BIAWs 2004 Builder of the Year Award at BIAWs Fall Board of Directors meeting in Tacoma.
This award honors BIAWs builder members for their meritorious service and exemplary devotion to the homebuilding industry.
Cronce, whose company, Gabriel Homes, has been building homes in Mason County for 32 years, was recognized for his countless contributions to the homebuilding industry and the cause of affordable housing in Washington State.

HBA announces scholarship winners |
The Homebuilders Association (HBA) of Kitsap County announced its 2004 scholarship recipients. Annually, the association offers scholarships to students planning on continuing their education in construction or related fields.
The recipients are Ryan Brown and Haji Merdan, both of Bremerton. Each will receive a $500 scholarship, and are eligable for an additional $2,000 scholarships from BIAW.
