BIAW efforts to address housing
For the past decade, Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) has introduced and fought for legislation that will reduce the cost of housing in Washington State.

The Legislature and Governor have not taken up the issue, so housing costs continue to soar. BIAW will once again introduce and support legislation this session to help make housing affordable.

Included in BIAW’s priority list are issues ranging from reining in unfair impact fees, limiting “frivolous” lawsuits and overturning ergonomics regulations.

Building Material Outlet opens in Bremerton
Building Material Outlet has joined the Bremerton business community.

RE/Max donates to Children’s Miracle Network
RE/Max Town & Country in Port Orchard recently announced that all of its sales associates have pledged to contribute money from their commissions to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) for every transaction the office closes.

Funds raised will go to Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. RE/Max International has been the official real estate sponsor of CMN since 1992. Affiliates throughout North America have raised more that $30 million for hospitals serving children.

RE/Max Town and Country raised $1,775 for CMN in 2002.

Quast joins Windermere in P.O.

Johnson hires on at Realty Station
Kate Johnson who recently obtained her real estate license has joined Realty Station in Manette as a full-service real estate agent. She will work as a partner to Marlene Scheffer.

“I’m really excited about working with buyers and sellers, and continuing my career in real estate,” Johnson said.

Previously, Johnson worked at a property management firm in West Seattle, where she gained experience in landlord/tenant relations, accounting and project coordination.
