Windermere donates $2,500 to St. Vinny’s
Sales associates and staff with Windermere Real Estate’s Poulsbo office recently teamed up with the Windermere Foundation to donate $2,500 to St. Vincent De Paul to help a family in need due to medical struggles with mortgage payment, utilities, food and some school clothes and supplies.

They were helped with new additions to the team, Tom Klein and Ann Shepperd.

Sound Glass is ranked in Top 500
Qualified Remodeler Magazine named Sound Glass to its list of Top 500 businesses. Sound Glass, which has three stores including one in Bremerton, was ranked 157.

The rankings are based on sales, staff certification, industry awards and community service. This is Sound Glass’s third year in the Top 500.

Windermere grows by four new agents
Windermere Real Estate has added two sales associates to its Poulsbo-North Kitsap office. They are Chelsea Lester, who for the last six years owned a hair salon in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and Bill Slonaker, a former vice-president of sales and marketing for DLI Engineering. Slonaker has 30 years experience in capital equipment and software sales.

Also the Bremerton office welcomes Nancy Mackleit and Dan Talbot, who are both new to real estate.

Baker recognized for restoration
Bernie Baker Architect P.S. received a merit award in Custom Home magazine’s annual design competition for its restoration of a 1904 building on Bainbridge Island.

The project, which created a guesthouse from an outbuilding with an attached outhouse and water tower. The project also won an award from Sunset magazine’s Western Home competition.

The winning design is published in the current issue of the magazine and other work of the architect is on display in the front window of the Winslow Paint Co.

PNWB to outsource mortgage loans
Pacific Northwest Bancorp (PNWB) has joined a growing list of financial institutions that have decided to outsource residential mortgage lending operations.

“As we planned for 2003 and beyond, our current method of operations would not provide an effective service experience for our customers and sufficient return to our shareholders,” said Patrick Fahey, bank president and CEO.

The company expects to recognize a one-time charge of approximately $1.2 million as part of this redirected effort. PNWB anticipates that this action will reduce revenues in 2003 about $2.1 million and reduce expenses by about $3.5 million.

Helpline gets grant from Windermere
The South Kitsap Helpline is the recipient of a $3,000 grant made possible by the Windermere Foundation.
