Grellier completes earth-friendly workshop |
Bremertons David Grellier, architect and owner of Atelier Northwest, Inc., recently completed a nine day workshop in cob construction at Cawston, B.C. The workshop involved the construction of a small home using traditional techniques, and was carried out under the direction of experts from the Cob Cottage Company of Cottage Grove, Ore.

HBA makes plans for annual auction |
Mardi Gras Madness II is the theme for the annual Homebuilders Association of Kitsap Countys (HBA) auction, which is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21. in the ballroom of the Howard Johnsons Hotel in Bremerton.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support the Affordable Housing Council.

ICC not to challenge NEC |
The International Code Council (ICC) announced recently that it has no plans to develop an electrical code to compete with the National Electrical Code (NEC). ICC Chairman Larry Bell said that doing so would run counter to ICCs mission of a single set of national model construction codes.
The ICC recommended that those interested in electrical safety should continue to participate in the NEC development process. But it also noted that industry concerns over coordinating the administrative provisions and technical aspects of the NEC that do not specifically deal with electrical safety and are regulated by other codes.
