| Continually, we are treated with the news of a decision by the State Supreme Court, but not how each Justice voted. In the recent past, we learned that a majority of the Court decided that in this state, if you’re a convicted felon who has served his time, but not paid the monetary side of the sentence, you’re denied the vote.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a unanimous decision. Had the Court decided the other way, it would have been another instance of legislating from the bench, changing the clear language of law passed by the legislature. The three who would give felons a free financial ride are Justices Gerry Alexander, Charles Johnson, and Tom Chambers.
