| There seems to be a lot of America bashing going around these days. You hear it constantly in the live and print media. Celebrities and every day people who feel they speak for the rest of us, berate the freedoms that a little more than two centuries of hard work and sacrifice have given us today. It’s everywhere and it’s becoming louder, and can be heard by the entire world.
I must admit to becoming disenchanted with America as well. Not for the same reasons today’s haters espouse, but because of them. Today’s typical American seems to be fatter, lazier, and more selfish than previous generations. The founders of this nation worked hard to build a country that would become the leader of all countries. We went to war two times that prevented the world from falling into unimaginable hardships.
This generation seems intent on ripping apart the entire fabric of that greatness. They would make all manor of depravities commonplace. They fail to heed the warning signs of enemies at our door. And, yes, they would like to erase any mention of guidance of an almighty God directing our future. Someone once said that eternal prosperity is the hardest thing to endure. We may be the perfect example for this expression.
