| Democrats in Olympia are referring to their spending spree as a “Families budget.” I’m not so sure that my family can stand many more of these types of budgets. How is it anything but reckless to grow government spending 33 percent in just four years?
While my family pays ever-increasing property taxes, higher medical insurance premiums, higher gas taxes, and soon, bridge tolls, to name but a few expenses, Democrat legislators and the Governor continue to reward their special interests at taxpayer expense.
It was just several years ago that Washington voters approved spending limits (I-601) that tied growth in state spending to population and reasonable inflation growth. This arrogance on the part of budget writers will harm many more families than it purports to help.
