LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Seaquist
I, like many of you, believe that when we elect an individual to represent us that is what they will do, represent us. It is unfortunate that from time to time one of these elected officials proves to all of us they have absolutely no business being in office. To this point I present to you Rep. Larry Seaquist.

In an article dated Feb. 21, 2007 the Seattle Times quotes Rep. Seaquist as saying that the International Speedway Corporation is a “terrible corporate citizen” and predicted that NASCAR promoters would be “terrible neighbors.” He then went on to say “These are not the kind of people you would want living next door to you, they would be the ones with the junky cars in the front yard and would try to slip around the law.”

Larry, I congratulate you, your comments prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that ignorance and prejudice are very much alive and well, however I hate to tell you that they have no place in our political system or anywhere else for that matter.

I sincerely hope that our other elected officials do not share your thoughts, as I would prefer to believe that you alone have raised the bar for stupidity to such a high level that hopefully few will ever surpass it or have a desire to do so.
