| I would like to call your attention to a business in Poulsbo that will celebrate its 20th year in 2007. That may not seem out of the ordinary, except this business is a cooperative.
Twenty years ago a group of artists felt they needed a place to sell their art work everyday, not just during art shows, weekend showing, etc. So they (we) started the Verksted Gallery. (Verksted is Norwegian for work place).
Eventually the gallery grew in members, moved three times finding a better location with each move and incorporated as a non-profit business with Washington State.
Membership is now close to 40 artists who all work at some capacity in the business.
