| As an older, but still active Republican, I was really offended by your tirade against some of my fellow Republicans. Most of the Republicans I know from here and other places I have lived (California and New York) would be considered “Reagan Republicans.”
Now I have a few questions for you.
- How come you never rant against the far left in the Democrat Party?
- Are you saying that Conservative Christians should not have a voice or be involved in our government? Most of them are law abiding, tax paying, generous, givers in the community. Not only that but many have served in the wars this country has fought. Yes — it might irritate some non-Christians to hear their voices when they mention their faith in God but I will take that any day over the strident anti-American rantings of the left.
- You say the GOP should be pragmatic — how pragmatic? There are certainly basic values that one cannot discard. We have been thru about 40 years of “everything is relative” thinking and look what a mess our country is in. It is NOT conservatives that are to blame for the long list of problems we face, believe me. When I was growing up here in Bremerton and elsewhere where I’ve lived, one could safely reside in one’s home and walk the streets without fear. Not so now!
