LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Support Tooloee
Because we believe that the November 2005 Bainbridge Island mayoral race is extremely important, we have become involved in our first local political campaign. On Nov. 8, our community has the opportunity to elect Nezam Tooloee as mayor. Nezam is an intelligent, proactive, analytical, educated, and highly principled candidate.

Critical issues like traffic congestion, growth management, and protecting our interests with the ferry system require a mayor who can understand and meet these complicated challenges. We deserve competent leadership. (Is a ferry maintenance yard the highest and best use of our Eagle Harbor waterfront?) We believe Nezam's experience and thoughtful approaches will provide our community with the kind of leadership we require.

Nezam has represented the whole island as councilman for the past two years. He is a doer. He is conservative in fiscal matters, progressive in social issues, and environmentally conscious. This means he will manage revenue and staff efficiently and still invest in those areas that make our city extraordinary. (We are intrigued by Nezam's affordable and practical solution for Highway 305 congestion during afternoon and morning commute hours: Leadership through thoughtful, simple solutions).

Nezam placed a strong second in the primary and now needs more support from moderate voters to win the race against the incumbent. We hope you will join us in voting for him. Please urge your Island friends to do the same.

Nezam's web site, www.tooloee.com, presents a strong case for why he is the best candidate for our community. We urge you to read it.

We have finally met a candidate who deserves our support. Please join us. Vote for Nezam Tooloee on Nov. 8.
