| I attended the recent public hearing concerning the proposed NASCAR development to learn more about what was being proposed. I was appalled at the sheer volume of intentional misinformation and outright lies I heard from the opposition group, CHECK.
It also made me very sad to see Linda Webb, someone I respect, and once voted for, representing this group. Is she trying to use this issue as a platform to run for office again? If so, I would not vote for her now.
For the commissioners to hold such a hearing before there is any solid information available was inappropriate. All it did was promote FEAR — False Evidence Appearing Real, to feed the insecurities of folks afraid of what the truth could mean to them.
I would like to suggest that as citizens of Kitsap and Mason Counties, we all take a collective deep breath, step back, smile at our neighbors, even if we disagree, and wait until all the facts are available before engaging in any more debate. We’ll all sleep better and have a healthier attitude about it.
