LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Honesty and Taxes |
Memo to Washington State Governor and Legislature:
Maybe it is time to put aside your arrogance and actually try to represent the people. Stop telling us what is best for us and how we should live! Stop taking our money and wasting it on your pet projects. Stop lying to us.
Candidate Gregoire promised there would be no new taxes. She was barely in office when she began negotiating for all sorts of new taxes to balance her dream budget. Spend! Spend! Spend! That is what Olympia does best. Even when the revenues increase, the Governor and the legislators say that there is not enough money. (There was a 7.1% increase in revenues before the $450 million revenue increase announced in June.)
There is not now, and there never will be, enough money in the whole wide world for the current gang in Olympia.
