This is a brief response to Connie Christman, President, Puget Rental Owners Association, in the September KPBJ.
Yes, indeed, I searched the Bremerton Suns classified ads for rentals under $400. There were no results returned by search engine (although I did see one apt. advertised for $390/mo.). Fairly typical income for persons in public housing is around $500/month.
Please explain how someone receiving as I do, about $700/month in SSDI, is supposed to survive and pay rent of $600 on up to skys the limit. That doesnt cover up front deposits. And then Bush administrations HUD has recently instituted severe cutbacks on Section 8 rentals.
I dont see how that helps rental owners? I guess you must think that poor old ladies like me should sleep raw? With my chronic bronchitis (and, no, I dont smoke), I certainly wouldnt last very long out doors. Of course, if the poor all died, that would solve your problem, now, I suppose you think? You wouldnt have to pay any tax dollars to maintain us. Were just a bunch of parasites anyway, arent we?
