Certain pundits writing in our blatantly leftist local daily rag have already begun their smear campaign against Commissioner Jan Angel in hopes of electing either of the two Democrats running against her.

They can’t really attack the job she’s doing considering all the state laws, regulations and unfunded mandates the county is forced to comply with. So instead, the Democrats, using Letters to the Editor as well as those columnists, have embraced the tactic of character assassination by stooping so low that they’re attacking Commissioner Angel by saying she doesn’t have the education needed to understand her job.

Is there nothing too unscrupulous for these people to do or say, no lie they won’t tell in their thirst for power?

Obviously, the ultra-liberal rag editor, the same one who picked our last failed county commissioner as a community columnist, must condone these attacks.

But he didn’t live here when Charlotte Garrido gridlocked county government for four years with her inane and unending use of “process” to mask her inability to make a decision. Or when she singlehandedly stole away the nest eggs of hundred of families by rendering their land worthless by changing the zoning.

Oh yes, and let’s not forget her personal political vendetta against a certain developer that prevented the intersection of Sedgewick and Sidney Roads from being developed and is now costing us taxpayer over $1 million a year in lost sales tax revenue to Pierce County.

Jan Angel has done a good job — in spite of suffering for two years with liberal Democrats Tim Botkin and Chris Endresen blocking her every move. She deserves re-election and she has my vote!
