LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Jan Angel

Commissioner Angel’s recent article was very saddening.

To hear her tell it, Ms. Angel finds the county’s problems overwhelming, posing dozens of questions for which she seems to have no answer, even after a full term as commissioner. That’s sad!

Her solution — hold your hat — is to laboriously review all the information one more time, to hear from those folks who are able to attend daytime meetings (again). This will make us stronger.

I’ve been in a lot of meetings in my life but I’ve never been in one that solved issues like how to, “invite growth without spoiling the rural atmosphere.” Sounds like meeting to figure out how to eat all you want and not gain weight.

Since the endless meeting isn’t likely to turn up anything new, at some point she’ll have to decide between “invite growth” and “rural atmosphere.” Does anybody really wonder whether this ex-real estate agent is going to opt for the fudge brownie of growth or the leafy greens?

In other words, another four years of meetings followed by decisions that will slowly but surely turn Kitsap into another Lynnwood or Tukwila. And that’s really, really sad.
