LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Vote Seratt

I am asking for your Seratt vote for Fire District 7 Commissioner, Position 4. It’s been my privilege to talk with many of our South Kitsap residents, answering questions and listening to their concerns and interests for Fire District 7. As your Fire Commissioner, I will strive to be a vital link to bring our community concerns to our fire agency, and in turn, effectively communicate the departmental needs to our citizens.

My focus is on the continuing challenge of properly aligning our revenues with the limited resources and the increasing service demands of Fire District 7 with ample funding, adequate staffing and enhanced technology. My efforts will support a strong partnership among our career firefighters, our valued volunteers and an involved community to help maximize the effectiveness of our safety awareness and fire prevention programs. Together, we can achieve our common goals to provide service excellence, promote community participation, while we continue to attract and retain qualified firefighters and medics.

My qualifications include comprehensive training in law enforcement, military and volunteer firefighting and EMT instruction. Currently, as a 911 operations technician, I am responsible for the strategic emergency unit responses in CAD encompassing all of the Kitsap County Fire Departments. Along with an educational background in business management and accounting principles, I have experience in establishing budgets and expenditure audits as a board member for a non-profit organization.

My wife, Sheri, and I moved into the Puget Sound area in 1988, eventually making our home in the Long Lake area. We would like to briefly pause from our campaign efforts to express our sincere appreciation to family and friends who have graciously assisted in my quest as Fire District 7 Commissioner. A tremendous thanks goes out to the South Kitsap Professional Firefighters Local 2876 for their support and endorsement of my candidacy! Furthermore, I’d like to recognize the efforts and energy of the Fire District 7 personnel for the awesome job they perform in service excellence to our community.

It’s important to have a skilled and qualified Fire District 7 Commissioner you can trust to make informed decisions for our community… someone who can provide leadership and action with innovation and integrity. Your Seratt vote on November 4th is greatly appreciated.
