I don’t want to confuse you with the facts, but scheduling highway construction projects for the summer is NOT because the state government doesn’t care about business — it’s because the DOT is trying to get the work done in a minimal amount of time for a minimal amount of money.

Anyone who’s lived here for more than a couple of years should know that summer is when the weather is least likely to cause construction delays and correspondingly higher costs. Perhaps you’d prefer to have the Hood Canal bridge closed for a longer period of time, and at a greater cost to the taxpayers?

Trying to make political points out of this situation is unfair.
