I’d like to comment on both your editorial concerning Commissioner Patty Lent’s vote on impact fees, as well as the attacks on Business Journal Editor Lary Coppola in The Sun by Bob Dietz in his column and more recently in a letter to the editor from Fran Moyer.

It seems to me that what Mr. Dietz and Ms. Moyer fail to understand is that as Mr. Coppola pointed out, the real issue here is integrity. As a Democrat who voted for Commissioner Lent, I take it personally that she betrayed my trust.

But what disheartens me most is because she supported an issue they favored, Mr. Dietz and Ms. Moyer can’t wait to defend a public official who lied to us and vilify the person who pointed it out — as if that was the real offense. What does that say about their ethics?
