Smart growth alert! The Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council or KRCC, is planning to back door Smart Growth Policy in Kitsap County very soon. Their 60 page draft document downloadable in PDF at: www.kitsapgov.com/boards/krcc.htm outlines the most dangerous planning policy to your freedoms and your pocket book ever created in Kitsap County.

Accountable to no voter, the KRCC is proposing regional control over all future growth from 2002 to 2050 with the power to encourage more taxes in exchange for the loss of your freedoms in Kitsap County. The KRCC invites the Indian Tribes and the Federal Government to directly tell you what you can and cannot do! The KRCC policy binds you, but not them. The KRCC plans to overlay even more restrictive Smart Growth “zoning” on top of our current restrictive GMA zoning.

Call your County Commissioner at (360) 337-7146 and tell them you are not paying any more taxes to have the Indian Tribes and the Federal Government through the KRCC take away your freedoms while they charge you more in taxes. Once this Smart Growth policy is voted on by the KRCC board members, you, the voter, have no recourse! All you will be able to do in the future is pay more in taxes, live in government built, high-density housing and ride the bus or your bicycle to and from highly concentrated work/retail centers with minimal parking.

Automobiles will be a luxury many will not be able to use with the new and planned KRCC restrictions. Read the draft yourself and speak up for your hometown freedoms! Dump the 2003 draft, No KRCC Smart Growth!
