A focal point in the entry to our home is a partial wall. It has been blank for 3 years now. I want to put a painting there. Something special. I know that what I want will cost between $300 and $600. We’ve been financially helping a family member and we just can’t afford it right now. Priorities, you know.

Kitsap County is advertising to artists for works of art to adorn the proposed administration building. “Approximately $25,000 to $50,000 each for 2-3 individuals projects.”
  While we’re waiting for these applications from prospective artists we are looking at cutting 19 deputies, many human rights services, eliminating the prosecutors special sexual assault and drug unit plus six deputy prosecutors, youth programs, more criminals on the street and across the board budget cuts for all county departments.

It sure was fun spending money while we had it though. Millions of dollars negotiating a non-existent plan with NMFS, Digital Airborne Imagery System (Spy in the Sky), a “public information officer” to put the right “spin” on news from the court house, a staff for Natural Resources, half a million dollars (plus) to study building an illegal court house in Bremerton, commissioners traveling all over the country and mis-spent funds on lawsuits punishing law abiding citizens. Let’s not forget businesses that took their new buildings and tax base to Pierce County because of building roadblocks in Kitsap.
