| While Kitsap County suffers through it’s worst affordable housing crisis ever, the current County Commissioners are considering raising Impact Fees on new homes in North Kitsap to $9,044.69, an increase of more than 450 percent.
A prospective first time homebuyer would need to borrow an additional $9,044.69 to purchase a new home. At an average annual interest rate of 7.5 percent amortized over 30 years, the actual cost of the new Impact Fee would be a whopping $22,766.40!
We, as responsible citizens, can not allow the County Commissioners to prevent our children and grandchildren from achieving the American Dream of home ownership with this draconian Impact Fee increase. It is time for new leadership in Kitsap County. The citizens of Kitsap County deserve better.
