   I just finished reading your editorial comments on the KREDC. I think you are completely correct in your thoughts.

Historically a big part of their budget was funded by a government grant. To my knowledge there has never a strong professional sales approach to this problem. Ed (Stern) has done a good job with the telecom committee but other results have been few and far between.

A year or so ago I approached the KREDC suggesting that PSNBA and their organization coordinate efforts to insure that both organizations were aware of what the other group was doing. I felt that this was important as we lobbied in Olympia and Washington DC. The answer that we received was that KREDC was only interested in working on primary jobs and didn’t have time to worry about protecting existing federal jobs.

I think a fresh approach with a sales orientation is long over due. The new organization should be staffed with highly experienced business talent.
