Letters To The Editor - Government Center
Botkin’s and Endresen’s plan to force county offices into downtown Bremerton demonstrates partisan willfulness over common sense. This fiasco will cost millions of dollars for a building, which should be serving the people who pay for it.

To solve the problem of parking, more money will be needed. Next, we will have to pay for the roads to make the building more accessible. Finally, we have to spend money on propaganda to convince the citizens this is a wonderful idea. A huge, cold government building may force people downtown but it will never attract people downtown.

If the proposed building is for the people, why not build it on Highway 3. This would give easy access for everyone. There would be space for a park like setting with plenty of parking room. The view from the highway would advertise that we have common sense and care about all the people in the county.

This building would be the death of old Bremerton and no chance to return it to it’s past charm.

Remember Botkin and Endresen do not have to listen to us. They can waste as much of our money they can spend in four years.
