| Abuse of power has been proven to be the cancer of a democratic society. This cancer is magnified when the abuse is based on unqualified, assumed power.
Both Commissioner Endresen and The Sun regularly engage in the abuse of power. One is entrusted with the sacred duty of reporting news and events in a fair and unbiased fashion, the other is entrusted with the sacred duty of representing, and protecting the rights of, Kitsap County tax-paying citizens.
For The Sun to print a full page pro-Endresen article is not surprising. She has enjoyed the benefit of The Suns totally biased support since day one. The Endresen vision page places The Sun at an all time high of bias and abuse of power. The timing was no small coincidence. It followed in the aftermath of Ms. Endresens successful attempt at political suicide, last week when she displayed a childish, and very flagrant abuse of power, in blocking Commissioner Angels rightful tenure as chair of the Kitsap County Commissioners.
Getting back to the actual content of the Endresen vision, one definitive phrase sums it up: illusions of grandeur. Time and space are insufficient to dissect each point, but the entire fairy tale is counter to Ms. Endresens true agenda. The record clearly shows that she and her partner in crime, Commissioner Botkin, have elevated their assumption of power to a point where they have no conscience, or feeling of guilt. How else could they (on a daily basis) trash the property rights, and other constitutional rights of the citizens they are sworn to protect?
If Ms. Endresen is not removed from office, and is allowed to continue, Kitsap County will not survive to the year 2021. By then, her property takings will have destroyed the tax base that would fuel her pipe dreams. Are we really expected to believe such things as a monorail from Silverdale to Bainbridge and Bremerton would be a remote possibility?
It is one of lifes biggest puzzles, why people are willing to stay on-board a train that is obviously heading off the track and over the cliff.
None of us would leave our children in the care of anyone that would abuse them, yet we are allowing the abuse of our childrens future when we allow the abuse of power that takes away their future rights to own property and enjoy fair and equitable treatment by their county government. It makes no sense to keep on following any leader who has lost touch with reality, honesty, and fairness.
