By having County and junior taxing district elections at the same time, it shifts part of the cost of the junior taxing district elections, such as school boards and ports, to the County.

The junior taxing districts rely greatly on property taxes while the county collects a share of sales taxes, gambling taxes, and other sources of revenue beyond property taxes to pay for elections.

Anything that will reduce the burden of property taxes will enhance Kitsap County.

This shifting of election costs is but one of the many reasons to vote for the new charter.
