Representative government is not perfect, but it works better than most. The proposed Kitsap County Charter reduces representation. The proposed Charter places most power in a single elective office, that of the Executive. The three Commissioner positions would be replaced with a weak group of five "councilors". Elected from and by five districts of the County, their interests would not be focused on the county. They would tend to have narrow interests.

We do not need a weak, narrow thinking group of "councilors". Please vote NO on the charter.

I reject the argument that the proposed Kitsap County Charter is a free ride. This document opens the door to many extra nuisance elections initiated by disgruntled minorities. Will these elections cost us? What do you think?

Please save us the time and money by voting NO on the proposed Charter.
