| There they go again! The Democrats want to rule by intimidation, scare-mongering and berating fellow citizens. This was evidenced by a letter printed in a newspaper recently. The angry writer declared that any new Kitsap County Charter which includes commissioners to be elected by district, will be defeated by Bainbridge Island Democrat voters.
On June, 2001, the Kitsap County Freeholders, after much public input, voted for a new charter which includes five commissioners elected by district. Citizens of each district will elect the best qualified, most informed person from that specific district. With input from their constituents, the five commissioners will prioritize, solve problems and advance propositions to best serve the entire county.
All Kitsap County residents, regardless of Political Party affiliation, should contact the Freeholders. This hardworking group should not be intimidated by a loud, vocal minority. Urge the Freeholders to retain five commissioners elected by district.
