| Thank you for the fantastic article on the Park and Rec situation. As a former president of Central Kitsap Babe Ruth Baseball (two terms), a former board member of both Tracyton Soccer Club (9 years) and West Sound Baseball club (2 years) and a strong supporter of Olympic High School Athletics, I can say that as I read your article it sounded like you’d been with us in the youth sports community for the past 8 years or so trying to get anything other than the most routine customer service out of the Fairgrounds.
I’d also comment that it’s pretty typical of a ineffective or weak department director or top manager to use “reorganization” as a tool to get rid of an undesirable or unneeded employee. It’s much harder as a manager to do your homework and accurately document an employee’s deficiencies prior to effecting proceedings to terminate if necessary, and even harder still to establish an effective improvement plan and mentor better performance from an individual.
