| I recently attended a Saturday meeting of the Kitsap County Board of Freeholders. The meeting began at 8:30 a.m. and lasted until 4 p.m. The freeholders arrived on time and the meeting began on time. The focus of the meeting was on recall, referendum and initiative, potentially divisive topics.
After observing this group of volunteer citizens for an entire day, I want to acknowledge their dedication to Kitsap County. It soon became obvious that though the freeholders might hold differing political philosophies, their main goal is to do what is best for the citizens of Kitsap County.
When I left the meeting, I wanted to thank each one personally for his/her devotion to working for the public welfare, and also for the good will which they exhibited toward each other. Thank you, freeholders!
