| I am of the opinion that the right, the left, and the middle (the editor) all missed the mark. It is not the commercial fishing, it is the method of commercial fishing that is doing the harm. Allowing commercial trawling would work. Just stop netting in all Puget Sound waters, White and Native American.
The emphasis is all on quantity. I feel the nets have genetically strained out the large salmon over the years by the mesh size. When was the last time you heard about the big one that got away? Other states have stopped netting with superb results in a short time. The answer has been shown, now we need to follow their example.
