| I would like to propose some charter provisions outside the nine dots of other Washington counties charters.
1) How about a community council per council/commissioner district? We already have one in Silverdale. Keeping it in place could help keep Silverdale part of the county rather than being incorporated. Perhaps the chair could be the elected legislative soul for the district and the rest could be appointed non-paid volunteers.
2) The Weld County, Colorado charter has provision for a 5 member elected non-paid council or board whose purpose is to set salaries of the elected. They also perform a Board of Directors function to act in the role of assuring governmental efficiency. Perhaps with the addition of a representative from each of the two political parties such a board could be tasked to re-district the county.
