Kitsap Community Resources (KCR) recently welcomed two new employees.

Charmaine Scott has been chosen as the Director of the Employment and Training program after the retirement of former Director OJ Hogan. Prior to this position, she served as an employment supervisor and the site supervisor of the South Kitsap Family Service Center in Port Orchard at KCR for over five years.

Scott brings eight years of experience as the program director at Gateways for Youth and Families in Tacoma where she designed and implemented a program for juvenile offenders, managed budgets over $1 million, and managed a team of over 30 staff members. She also served as the director of employment for Easter Seals where she supervised job coaches and program staff and served populations with diverse needs.

Kathleen Hackney will serve as KCR’s new Community Relations and Development Manager. A Master of Business Administration graduate, Hackney brings over seven years of marketing, marketing communications, and internal communications experience to KCR. She has specialized in online marketing, however her background also includes writing and public relations.

Prior to joining KCR, Hackney worked at Washington Mutual in Retail’s Internal Communications group, where she created web strategies for internal communication related to policy, marketing initiatives, and human resources programs.
